Getting very damn narky about all these 'OMG rising cost of childcare' scare stories. Especially comments on same by ignorant asshats who insist their children have a right to highly trained and demonstrably dedicated carer/educators but refuse to engage with the fact that those very carers earn less per hour than a supermarket shelf-stacker.

You can tell this is the point in every holiday where we end up with time on our hands, can't you... staying at sister-in-law's, doing as little as possible. Today was: rejoicing in painless tooth (yay!) with coffee, more coffee, trying to find 2.4 clearance parking in Maroochydore, movie, dinner. O the strain.

Mum up and about - allowed to shower and take herself to the loo etc with a wheeled walker; also off the ventilator, trachea thingy out, and best of all able to SPEAK intelligibly (if briefly) via the hole-in-throat-button.
